As a catcher the only time I talk to a batter is if i know the person, i'm just cracking a joke and not expecting anything back, or to ask a quick question. Nothing long, nothing distracting, way before he even gets in the box. As a hitter i hate talkin to the catcher. I just wanna concentrate on the pitcher, but sometimes they say something. Theres two things i dont do when im up to bat..talk to the catcher, and pick up any foul ball i hit or a wild pitch. Thats my superstititousness (spelling? lol) for you. Im very superstitious.
