I wouldn't completely shut down....coaches love kids who are great teammates and fun to be around....but he doesn't want to come off acting like a complete goof or coaches may consider him immature and not take him seriously. Of course if he's a 6'4 lefty already throwing 86 he can do whatever the heck he wants
