I'm fairly new here too and have always felt like I received polite and helpful responses. I do try to do my homework, and in one case even provided the appropriate link to a parent trying to determine the eligibility of a high school course with the Eligibility Center. Once I replied no one else did - the answer was there and we were done.
This is a great resource for those of us who do have first-timer questions and by and large I find the participants of all tenures to be very knowledgeable. I also feel comfortable that if/when the day comes that I have exciting news to share about my son it will be received in the spirit in which it is intended. As will my posts about our disappointments. The key is I will be honest about both.
