If he wants to play in a collegiate wood bat league that is sanctioned by the NCAA he needs to stay up north.

There are several top leagues in the New York area for him to play in during the summer. A lot of it depends on his year and Division he plays in. I'd suggest he speak to his coach about the summer before you make any plans.
