College Scholarships

My younger brother is only a freshman in high school so i know there is a lot of time left to determine this, but he is very talented and has been told that continuous hard work will give him an oppotunity to play college baseball. My question is do the number of scholarships and amount of money available to give to a player vary by divsion and what would you say the average scholarship player recieves?
