Those experienced kids are smooth and very tough to beat out. That is the part that all college parents can only learn from experience. It's no wonder that sometimes, it takes a year or two or three and sometimes four to finally break into the starting lineup. Playing in college is not just dependent on a given player's talent. Often times it depends on the other kids ahead of you. Luck is involved.
