D3 Baseball and College Prospect Camps

Hi All

My Class of 2017 California son is looking to go D3 on the East Coast (and maybe PA or OH). He's gone to 2 showcases (one in Ca and one in NY), has sent emails to coaches all summer with video, transcripts etc. He's had brief convos with coaches at showcases, has toured campuses and had admission interviews at approx. 8 schools and has yet to hear much of anything from any coaches. He likes all the schools we saw and is willing to go ED if he gets a nod from a coach - but cannot narrow it down yet to his top choice.

We are now getting emails for Fall Prospect Camps from some of the colleges on his list....We already spent $$$ on the showcases and the travel for campus tours/interviews this summer.

Cross-country travel for a one day camp is really 3 days gone (missing some school) and a lot of $$.

Is there any way to get a D3 roster spot without doing their Prospect Camps? Any advice/thoughts appreciated.
