In our program we currently carry 3 catchers and are looking to add another. I require my catchers to play multiple positions because if they are offensive minded we might be able find a place for their bat and use them at 1b, 3b or DH. But there is no question the stronger the arm the more playing time your son will earn. A 1.9 at any level will be helpful, especially if accurate.
