It will depend on your insurance company. My son had an elbow issue (not TJ but like it). I had switched employers not long before it. Had I still stayed with the old company (Cigna insurance), it would not have been covered. With the new company (United Healthcare), it was covered. Cigna considered his proceedure unnecessary and exploratory. United never asked a question, even though it had to be redone as the first surgery didn't take. United's always been great for us.
