First Cosby led, then Monacan, then Cosby, then Monacan tied it in the top of the 6th. But Cosby took the lead back in the bottom of the 6th to win a see-saw battle, 4-3. Ronnie Shaban (C) and Brant Jones (M) each had complete games.

The win clinches a playoff spot for Cosby, probably the biggest surprise of the season, going 9-3-1 in district despite having no seniors. The loss all but eliminates defending state champ Monacan from playoff contention.

By the time Thursday's games are done, playoff slots may all be clinched, though exact seeding of the 2-3-4 teams remains up in the air. Right now it's Midlothian (10-3), Cosby and Manchester (8-4-1).
