Dormitory room facts

I read some of the thread on the ladies board about sending the guys of for their first year and thought I'd start a line of "real world" dorm room facts to help with all that packing:

1. Dorm rooms are cleaned pretty infrequently. Perhaps straightened up a little when visitors are expected but true cleaning-not much.
2. Moms won't care for most of the "art" that gets put up on the walls. If the ladies on the posters are essentially clothed, be thankful; you did okay.
3. Guys, for years apparently, have handed down the cleaning trick that if you put spray Fabreeze on boxers, and put them in front of the fan, they become "clean enough" by the next morning to wear. Disgusting but true.
4. Sheets don't get changed nearly as often as at home; our son brought his home at Christmas for washing-the FIRST washing.
5. Laundry bags are nice-the guys lay them on the floor and it gives them something to aim at when they toss their clothes.

That's all I can recall but feel free to add to the list.
