I have heard repeatedly that the team can make a huge difference coming out of high school. Have not heard many details about how "good" teams do it differently, just that it seems less cut throat as well as providing some structure (simple things like clean safe, affordable housing) which goes a long way for an 18 yo on their own for the first time.
