My son first played at East Cobb as a 15 year old on an 18 and under team. That was our first mistake. As other posters have said the majority of scouts are watching 17 and under teams. The logic there is that by the time they are 18 most players have already committed to the school they will attend. However, there are exceptions and son was one. Fast forward 2 years to summer before Sr. year. Son was invited to attend a pro workout to be held at school of choice. Several major league scouts were there and we didn't even get out of town before coach was texting son to say they would be contacting him again with an offer. Coach told son they had been following him since they saw him at EC as a 15 year old. Bottom line to this rather lengthy post, you never know who is watching and for how long they've been following.
