Personally I wear the evoshield hourglass thumb guard. It keeps that old catcher thumb design with a little more comfort with the cloth outliner. I think the wristbands are really overrated. I don't like seeing catchers or anyone wear them. I like the old style catchers if you want protection tape it up and call it a day! The position is meant to get beat up a bit. I have caught guys that have been consistent 90's and have had no problem with getting hit in the wrist to bad. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.
