First PG Event Advice

I have a 2014 and would like to know if anyone can give advice on a good "first" PG Event to attend. We are on the East Coast and don't mind traveling to border states.

He's planning on going to some local ID camps and several college camps this summer/fall. He will play for the High School summer team until late June and then we'll be looking to to some bigger events.

I know he needs to be on a "showcase" team, but right now I'd rather spend my money directly on him. I can't see dropping 2k before he's ever played a high school game.

Thoughts?
