In a one man game..(and I have done my share) you have multiple responsibilities.....first off is the calling of the pitch...then any subsequent action....a call of fair or foul down the lines from 60-90 plus feet away will have an amount of estimation.....

Basically you get the best judgment on that particular play...the one man umpire crew can not accept outside info or help so a modicum of error is possible.

I believe you have hit the nail on the head when you state that that may be why the coach didn't say anything.....'

It is hard to do a game well with one man...even on the small diamond......At my sons college double header this past sunday, they only had one umpire who did both games behind the plate......... 90 ft bases, college level play.....not a peep out of any player or coach on any play or call......
