Congratulations on the interest in your son. I also have a 2011 and I can tell you that any attention they get is good. I have done a TON of research on this topic. Here is my take.
Get an idea of what level your son is at.
If he is a SS to be at the elite D1 level he would need to run the 60 in 6.8 or less. Throw from SS to first at 85mph or better and hit the ball to all fields with some authority. Combine those raw skills with hustle, good mechanics, and on the field results and you will know where you stand. Then pick the 5 schools that you like the most that you feel you have the ability to play for. Contact those schools, fill out questionaires and attend their camps if possible.
