Thanks to each of you for the input. I realize that I did not state that this was for a transfer decision, but I suppose that does not matter.

The boy decided to transfer to Belmont for his final two years of eligibility. Nothing negative about GW and no bad vibes from them. He had a very good visit and follow up conversations with the staff. His decision to go to Belmont was based on familiarity (coaches have known him and he has known them for a while), a good level of ball for him, the opportunity to reunite with two former summer ball teammates, and being back in the southeast with better weather.
