Get a Grip on Your Swing!

Has anyone thought about how much the grip on the bat effects the swing? Other than the whole "knocking knuckles" talk, does anyone have any idea to what an efficient grip on the bat looks like? I mean one that allows for a good swing to and through the ball with authority?
