I completely agree. You have your state compentency exams to pass, the SAT's and or ACT's, college scholarships and admissions applications deadlines, not to mention school, your sport(s) and family and personal life to juggle.

I remember assisting a young man in our high school career center about this time of year 8 or 9 years ago. Bright (but hadn't taken grades or the SAT's seriously) and talented (but hadn't garnered any attention yet for his pitching), he was coming in to figure out just what his OTHER options were, thinking he had pretty much blown his chances for continuing in baseball by then. He was only 17 and so full of regret for not having done better when he could have.

It's intense, all right.
