One interesting fact we learned about the NEW SAT during a recent official visit, at least as it pertains to the CA State university system: if you score above a 550 on the Math or English sections, you automatically get excused from basic math and english classes ... if you are below, you either have to test in to bypass those classes, or take the remedial classes when you get in your freshman year ... with NO CREDITS.

So work hard to get better than a 550... even if you've already been accepted, keep taking the SAT over until you get better than a 550.
