Greenies were all over the minor leagues years ago, havent really heard of them lately. Read Jim Boutons book, Ball Four, came out years ago and he talks about them, players use to also drink a cup of black coffee and take aspirin with the coffee, dont think anyone really knew why they were taking them, it was a baseball thing passed down from one generation to another
and it was suppose to make you not as tired and the coffee gave you a boost. aka Red Bull now.
