Sue, There are lots of things that are viewed by coaches and scouts at a showcase. Not just the ability of one outing. One of those is how a player handles adversity and how he relates to coaches and teammates. Your son may have had a bad day, others may have had a bad day, and some of his teammates are probably performing tremendously. He's part of that team and should stay until the end to support the others like him and cheer for the ones that are performing well.
