Favorite food component of Thanksgiving dinner?

That's easy.  It isn't much of a recipe, and it's not refined cuisine by any stretch.  But its  family connection always earns it a spot on our Thanksgiving table.

When my wife's parents were young and poor and couldn't afford to put together a turkey-and-all-the-trimmings dinner, their "stuffing" consisted saltine crackers broken up and stirred into a bowl with some of the turkey drippings.  We call it "cracker dressing." It always reminds me of the importance of being thankful for what's really important even when times are tight.
