Reply to "Help! Arm and Leg Strength"

Welcome Sean,

I'm sure that you will find this site helpful, and there are a lot of knowledgeable people here that can provide sound information.

The quickest way to your answer is to use the search tool. Use the "find" tab at the top of this page and input "arm speed" "throwing speed" "increasing velocity" etc. and I'm sure you'll end up with some great reading material. Same goes for increasing your foot speed. Search "increasing speed" or "foot speed" or "60 times" or something of the like.

However, the common theme between these two is that it takes hard work. If it is your goal to play baseball in college, you have to see yourself working harder than everyone else around you. This may mean making sacrifices such as waking up early, going to sleep early, eating right, and perhaps sacrificing your social life in order to pursue your dreams of playing college baseball.

One of my coaches told me: in college, you get to choose 2 of these three things. Athletics, academics, and a social life. You can only choose two. You'll make the right choice for you depending on what's most important.

I'm not saying you can't develop relationships with people. I'm simply saying partying on Friday and Saturday nights won't help you with your goals.
