I've always believed the hiss comes from spin. My sons started hissing at around 65 and has gotten louder since. I don't think he's got to 80 yet but it's pretty loud. He has a lot of movement on his fastball. Another kid I throw with quite a bit is just over 80 and his ball is very quiet and very strait.
