On the workout side....I would focus your efforts on squats, deadlifts, and power cleans, assuming you have someone who can help you with PROPER and SAFE technique of all the lifts.  Combine that with some sprinting intervals and you should be good to go.  Feel free to send me a message if you have questions - I coach strength and conditioning focused on baseball players.
