I had to do a Google® search for home plate turf halo to know what you were talking about.

My first guess was it is one of the "Big Deal" Dinners on the WAFFLE HOUSE® menu. I checked. It wasn't.

Then I figured it had something to do with the Anaheim club. Wrong.

Then I checked Preachers Without Borders. Nada.

Turns out that it's some type of welcome mat laid out around home plate and often times sporting a team's name or logo or both.

Wow! We're lucky just to have a semi-functioning plate. The pictures I saw of the home plate turf halos were impressive. If you can afford one then I would say go for it!

And remember...everytime you hear a bell ringing that means a high school baseball team has earned itself a home plate turf halo.
