got to keep the variables out of the equation.

Example:

Big-Ten in-state $18,000
Private ACC $40,000

If both offer 50%, do the math..........I pay either $9000 or $20,000

Now I am getting conflicting reports again.

As a CPA, I know basic math, not the complex stuff our kids know!
