Truth is we make the difficult decision whether to allow our boys to continue playing other sports (particularly football) junior and senior year, knowing that the risk of injury is there and is a potential consequence of our decisions, as well as them not being in top playing shape for fall/winter baseball recruiting events.  I'm not saying it is the wrong decision (in fact, we usually made the same choice) but it is something that is in our control.  I've seen far too many college baseball recruiting efforts and careers derailed due to either injury or being too beat up to show well at key recruiting events.  We need to own our decisions.

Thanks for the input. I will have them check on the timeline and I do understand they would not be in tip top baseball form this time of year due to playing other sports. They both quit basketball this year to focus on preseason baseball instead of only getting to do it on their own time as in the past.

As far as the injuries I agree with you 100% that it is my choice to let them play and take a chance of getting hurt. I worded it wrong, I meant to say there is nothing to be done about the injuries now. Trust me I have been kicking myself all weekend for letting him play. Hind sight is 20/20. 

When does a coach move on from a player? When he finds better talent. It could be five days or five months. 

 So true.

Thanks for the input, I will tell them to get mended and if there is still an opportunity then we will persure it then, and if not we will keep working until the next one.
