Hat story - one of my favorites.
I had a centerfielder 3 years ago who wore his hat to the side.

After repeated warnings from the head coach - he continued to wear it sideways once he got out into the field.

Our head coach did nothing.

In the 4th inning of the game - I called time out. I walked slowly to CF. (I dont think anyone in the whole ballpark knew what was going on.)

I "politely" requested that the hat be worn straight - and discussed the immediate consequences of the hat being worn sideways for even one more second.

The player - fortunately for all of us - accepted the "friendly advice" and straightened the hat for the rest of the season.
