We do something similar to Ironhorse but we don't give up on getting the out. P steps off, freezes R3, throws to whichever MIF is covering 2b. This MIF now has the ball, facing both runners and can work R1 back while keeping R3 in check. We can often get the out at first and keep R3 in place.
