Reality is that these guys live in an all-male world and dealing with a woman throws them to some degree.

Actually, after the first one, your son may well want to make the visits on his own, whichever and how many parents attend. But that's another discussion.
The first point was really emphasized for grins.
In our case the coach asked about mom's input on a variety of points and told my son we would need to bring mom for a visit. (No, it ain't free.)
Moms were no problem for him.
Remember, the coaches have done this a few times. Our questions were answered before we asked. Relax and listen. If you are there, they are likely very interested in your son playing for them and they want to do everything they can to get you there. They are SMARTER than they get categorized on this web site! (Speaking of D1 level, anyway. They don't get to that level without being good.)
(Didn't want mom to be able to raise objections and wanted to learn how much input she would have.)
After the visit, I told my son he would have been fine by himself and, if, we had made a visit to another school, he would have handled it. There was no need for me to have gone. But you have to go to the first one to learn that.
On this site, so much of the fear about the process gets expressed. We all want to control, but looking back it really to care of itself.
