I'm envisioning positioning a kid outside the dirt/halo. Balls could be rolled and returned without interfering with the pitcher, who's my pitcher anyway, so it's not like the other team could complain. And not "re-inventing the wheel," but if you're getting reps why not make them as game-like as possible?
