As many posts above indicate, don't make too much out of July 1. Plenty of communication goes on long before July 1 and loooong after. July 1 just allows for one more form of communication (call from coach) to BEGIN.

Among other things, I'd note that there are probably close to 50 or so schools (maybe) more whose staffs are at the Stanford camp right now and aren't calling anyone. Certainly, there are many more events around the country being attended or that coaches are waiting to attend before they start their serious "shopping".

Also, as another post above says, many coaches may be on vacation, etc.

My son got his first call around July 15 and then they "sprinkled" in over the next few months, ending up with quite a few very nice opportunities.

Of everything in the recruiting process, IMO July 1 is much to do about nuthin'.
