In my sons case (Army), he was offered admission, but the application process had obviously been completed. Another recruit with us on the same visit, had not completed the application process, but the coach asked for a commitment "if" the application was accepted.
In one case this year, the coach told a recruit that they would not be offering admission. The recruit showed himself to lack the character the coach required during the visit. I say this just as a reminder that they are interviewing your son during the visit also.
