It seems pretty crappy that they go all season using a certain bat but then at the biggest point of the year are forced to adjust to using new ones.

Florence Darlington had a tough draw. They lost their opener 7-0 to the (likely) National JuCo pitcher of the year. 14 Ks in that game suggests that something different couldn’t have hurt. Next game was against #1 seed who had lost their first game too and were pissed about it. Game over for Flo Dar. They were in the same hotel as me and I talked to a number of their players. All seemed to be good kids. None of them complained about not having their bats. They acknowledged that they ran into a couple buzz saws.
