Reply to "July 1 scholarship notification deadline"

An athlete should receive written notification regarding the status of any scholarship for the upcoming year if they had a scholarship the previous year and have eligibility remaining per NCAA Bylaw 15.3.7.1. However, parents may not ever see or be aware of anything if the athlete signed their renewal form prior to leaving campus for the summer.

A school can reduce after the July 1 deadline, but only for specific stated reasons, such as becoming academically ineligible or for violating a documented institutional rule or policy.
