I wonder how the DISD coaches pick between so many .600 hitters! And how does a group of coaches choose between 3-4 0.00 ERA pitchers -- like the Marcus kids this year?

I agree that we, as parents, do speculate a lot about the selection process. It sounds like your district is fairly straightfoward, simp1. Perhaps that is the norm rather than the exception. I think the process has flexibility but, at times, it appears to be political. Having said that, there is no perfect process -- and certainly some deserving players are left off 1st teams or whatever.
