If it's like it's been in the past, your team can pay a "fee" to get out of the hotel deal. Even if you don't, as long as some of your team stays there, you'll have no problem going somewhere else. Emerson is about 30 miles NW of Atlanta. Last year we never drove over an hour....and they do a pretty good job of not making you drive that kind of distance twice in a day. There are a lot of really nice houses on Lake Allatoona (5 min from Lakepoint) that are available to rent....which is what we did....but I'm guessing they're already booked. If you're looking at hotels....stay on the NW side....Vinings....or Marietta. Almost all the HS fields they use are the NW, N or NE side....staying downtown would put you a long way from all of them.
