Northwestern is an interesting one! It was a founding member in the Big 10 conference and remains the only private school. Undergraduate population is only 8,000 students, much less than any of the other schools in the conference. It is a high academic school if you look at their SAT averages. They keep a small roster, all the kids have to get admitted on academic merit, and there are no JuCo transfers.
