Coaches...great advice! I would suggest to the first year coach that you implement as many game situations into your drills as possible. Players need constant drilling, but if you don't put it in context with game situations, you are wasting valuable practice time. Think of yourself and your staff as teachers. Also, I suggest you communicate with the players often and get suggestions on what they like and allow them to question why you have them doing certain drills / routines. Be prepared to answer them...that is very important. Have fun and good luck!
