Or, and this is a somewhat radical idea, we could go back to teaching hitters a swing that’s more likely to make contact with a pitch! It continues to amaze me that people look for something unique as a solution instead of tried and true methods that have worked for decades. The majority of hitters at the HS & college levels (and below) should be learning to backspin the baseball. Trying to lift the baseball only works for the biggest, strongest, and most elite hitters. Why would you push training methods that only work for the very best onto ordinary players?!? Oh, yeah. So you can charge $ and create an income stream. A better question might be, why can’t parents (that are paying for instruction) figure out what is right for their kid? I’m seeing private instruction ruin as many kids as are being helped.
