Hi everyone,
I wanted to kick this off a few days ago but due to a busy work schedule and a bit of procrastination on my end, now is the time.
The idea for this forum started a few weeks ago in conversation with Julie and a few other site moderators. With some of our members here experiencing the process of being recruited to play in college, or being scouted to play professional, there are many questions asked. Rather than having the questions dispersed throughout the message boards here, we thought it'd be a good idea to be able to congregate them in one central location, so onlookers and posters alike would have an easier time accessing the information.
My time on this site has been wonderful for me, and the learning experiences it has created have been immeasurably valuable. I've heard from many members who feel the same way. Now that I have moved off the field as a player and into the role of talent evaluation, I feel as though I might have some info to give back to the online community here from a firsthand perspective. We have many other posters here that are in similar professional roles and are equally - or more - qualified than I am. Hopefully the nature of this forum allows for continuous flow of valuable information from such individuals, to ensure that our fellow members are assisted through the process in the manner that they desire.
With that being said, I think we all look forward to kicking off this new forum and hope that it will be beneficial to the members of the site involved. The process of potentially playing baseball at the next level can be overwhelming and stressful, especially for those relatively new to the experience. Hopefully we can help alleviate that stress and be helpful in whatever way(s) we can.
