My report: My husband and I got to watch our younger son's first college concert today. He is a freshman classical guitar major at the University of Minnesota. His freshman ensemble sounded quite good, but it was also inspiring to hear the upperclassmen who are, of course, better!

I had hoped son #2 might choose a career with more obvious earning potential since he was an A student, but he has his heart set on becoming a professional musician. So now I am on the lookout for a nice future wife for him, who is majoring in something employable.

Parents of freshman young ladies who fit the description, please contact me to begin plotting a match.

He is 6'3" tall and though he is not a baseball player, he has the proper genes for a baseball playing grandson! (photo below) Oh boy, it's a good thing he doesn't read this site - he might not like this very much!
