Don't forget the parking tickets!

Also, here is a great idea (maybe too late for those that have already started school, but do it first time they come home)

Get an inexpensive 'lock box' with a key or combination lock. In it put:

Extra key to his car, copy of insurance cards, copy of drivers license and atm card. Maybe some cash or extra credit card with a low limit - emergency only.

If they have any medical needs, prescriptions, contact lens info, just any information that he may need in an emergency , or just stuff you can't get to him right away.

Son lost his keys at study hall in the evening.
His car was parked in zone that was ok for evening, but the car better be gone by 6AM or it is towed.
We had to drive 1/2 way and his roomie let him use his car to drive 1/2 way for us to give him the extra key - fun times late at night.

Niece attended Tulane when Katrina hit, she was only there a day or two and had to evacuate, did not have a car, did not know anyone except her roomate that was from Tennessee. My brother had packed on of these lock boxes for her and it was that and her backpack was all she could take with her. Had to leave her laptop and everything, her wallet was lost or stolen, having all of those documents an extra credit card, etc, was very helpful (understatement) took her two weeks to get home via campgrounds, bus rides and who knows what else. Ya never know.
