This is a very tough situation. Being in your shoes, I would have probably done something similar. TJ surgery and recovery seems to be no joke and when a kid's health is involved someone has to stand up for him. That said, I'm curious if your kid simply could have just said, "coach, I've stretched it and got nothing left."
