Reply to "Orlando National Baseball Classic"

Anyone that made it out to Tinker Field saw some top flight ball players! Hurley and Butler from Wolfson are the REAL DEAL! Eric Hurley, besides being a humble, well mannered and polite young man, is a heck of a pitcher. Hurley threw 13 innings at the Orlando Baseball Classic. He gave up one run, 15 strikeouts and no walks. Billy Butler hit the ball hard every time. Butler had one of the more dramatic highlights of the tournament, a walk-off grand slam that was still gaining altitude as it cleared the scoreboard in left center.

There were simply too many good players at the tournament to list them all here. But here are just a few;
Andrew Nickerson(05) - Brentwood Academy (TN)
Johnny Kirkland(05) - Colonial (Orlando)
Kevin Mierzwinski(05) - Dr Phillips (Orlando)
Chris Dykes(04) - Lake Highland (Orlando)
Micheal Fisher(04) - Montgomery Bell (TN)
Pat Wandtke(04) - West Orange (Winter Garden)
Kenny Ford(05) - Wolfson (J-ville)

Boone and Lake Highland have quite a collection of outstanding freshman that will be worth watching for the next few years. Lake Highland started 4 or 5 freshman every game.

Hats off to Frank Viola and his staff for a great high school tournament.
