Other team's fans

Luckily,I had read here about how alot of the college teams fans can be brutal- because I think I would have had a heart attack this weekend otherwise!! I still was not fully prepared for the experience. I'll admit some of it was really funny but some of it...My son had warned me that this was one of the teams but, as a freshman, it caught him of guard as well. He got his first loss and he admitted when he got out to the mound-he couldn't see the catcher's signs (lighting I guess), which rattled him, then he knew he was screwed when he couldn't block out the chanting/screaming. It took alot for me not to go tell some of them "That's my baby you're talking about!" Didn't help that we, the visiting fans, were stuck smack in the middle of the student section. Luckily, we both made it through the weekend, and hopefully, will be more prepared the next time. Looking around at the older players' parents, they seemed to be able to block it out or ignore it, so I have hope that I'll be able to grow that thick skin I'm going to need! Like I said, I'd read about it and thought that I had some idea what it would be like, but I was wrong! Unfortunately, they killed us all three games but there's a reason they are ranked in the top 25 and they showed us why!!
