Lafmom, very good post. And JT, at least you know the questions that you or your son should ask - think of how many families have no idea that ANY colleges over-recruit, and just assume that if a college coach is calling the player regularly, he'll be a starter freshman year!
Also, you've probably read this many times, but as we learned from this site, my son chose a school where baseball looked like a good fit, but where he also really felt comfortable with the school for all the non-baseball factors. He's a few months into his 2nd year there and mentioned recently how glad he is that he found "the perfect school for him".
